PROGRAM OVERVIEW

As required by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy, this program consists of 500 classroom (clock) hours of instruction.  This program prepares the student for an entry-level position in the field of Massage Therapy while providing the fundamental elements necessary for success in the profession.=

As part of the Basic Massage & Hydrotherapy Program the students learn the basics of Anatomy and Physiology as well as structural bodywork modalities, Eastern as well as Western theory and technique, and how to treat specific pain and dysfunction while taking a holistic approach to health and healing. 
 

Massage Therapists are licensed under the Florida Department of Health and recognized as healthcare providers.  As part of the training, students will receive training in CPR, First Aid, Medical Errors Prevention and Pathologies.   

Feeling prepared to enter into the workforce is essential to the success of any graduate.  At Space Coast Health Institute we incorporate a Business Practices class including topics such as marketing, interviewing, and starting your own business.  Our goal is to prepare each student to be a successful massage therapist as either a sole practitioner, an independent contractor, or an employee.
