School History

Jan 1991 - Space Coast Massage Institute is founded in Indialantic, Florida.

Feb 1992 - The first graduating class for licensed massage therapy.

1994 - Space Coast Massage Institute moves to Gateway Business Center in Melbourne, Florida.

1995 - The Florida Marlins Sports Internship Program begins, providing graduates of SCMI the opportunity to work on professional athletes during spring training at Viera and homestands in Miami.

1995 - The Hospital Internship Program begins providing graduates of SCMI the opportunity to work with hospital patients.

Dec 1998 - Groundbreaking for the new building on the corner of Sheridan & Wickham Road in West Melbourne, Florida.

Dec 1998 - Space Coast Massage & Allied Health Institute changes name to Space Coast Health Institute (SCHI).

Feb 2005 - SCHI began working with the Washington Nationals for the Sports Internship program.

Aug 2006 - SCHI became eligible to participate in Title IV loan programs.
